Live Online Wine Classes
Italian Wine Appellations • French Wine Appellations • Grapes We Love • Mini Clinics on Wine Topics That Matter Most
Opening a Bottle is proud to present our live Online Wine Classes & Mini Clinics, a series of live events held on Zoom where curiosity and storytelling are the vehicles for wine education.
What Are They?
Wine classes and clinics are included with a paid subscription. We offer two types of classes:
Deep-Dive Classes (60-90 minutes)
Each live online wine class is highly visual with professional photography, videos with winemakers, in-depth maps, details on terroir and winemaking technique, anecdotes from the road, and an "ask-me-anything" approach to wine education. Past classes have included:
Mini Clinics (30 minutes)
Our mini-clinics take place in the summer and fall. They are abbreviated to half an hour and more discussion-based, focusing on specific topics that concern everyday wine consumers. An interactive Q-and-A concludes each one.
Past and upcoming mini clinics:

What Our Subscribers Are Saying

"My wife and I have been to Chablis and learned a lot from your class and possibly enjoyed it even more having been there. The knowledge, the homework, the interest, the photos — all super professional and delivered in the most inviting way. You make me want to discover and drink more!"
Steve C., Opening a Bottle Subscriber
How Do They Work?
For each class, we provide a Study Guide to that category of wine. You need to be logged in as a subscriber to view the guide because it lies behind our paywall. (PDF versions of these guides are available upon direct request.)
From there, you source your wines wherever you can, but we're here to help you if you need it. For those who want just a single wine to sip, we provide a recommendation.
At the appointed time, visit the class' Study Guide where you will find the Zoom log-in credentials. Subscribers also get the link and password emailed to them directly.
From there, sit back, get comfy, and have a wine glass in hand as we start our tour and class.
An Added Bonus
Each session is recorded and published in our archive of recorded classes, which paying subscribers can watch any time at their leisure. This, paired with our Study Guides, means you'll be a more confident wine consumer by joining our platform.
Note: Eventbrite tickets to these events are no longer being offered.
More From Our Subscribers

"Your program was excellent, our wines were delicious ... I'm recommending you to all my wine friends. The wine store I used is a woman-owned business. She's also a sommelier and quite fond of Nebbiolo. She saw the five-page doc you sent [our study guide to Nebbiolo] and said 'I've done a lot of tastings and this is very well done."
Melissa L., Opening a Bottle Subscriber
That was a great talk. I really want to go back and watch it again to take more notes.
