On Sunday, March 5, 2023, our community of wine lover’s gathered online for a new class on Friuli, Italy, one of the world’s top destinations for white wine. We covered the basics of terroir, including the role of the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, as well as “ponca” soil, and we did a deep dive on the area’s abundant grape varieties. To finish the evening, we “visited” three wineries with a unique perspective, and closed with some travel tips for visiting the area and exploring its cultural sites.
Complementing the class was a series of reference materials and interactive maps, which we have included below. Viewing this class is reserved for only paying subscribers of Opening a Bottle, and a password is needed to activate playing the video.
That password is FVG2023. The reference materials and links can be found below the video.
